Producer, Writer, Director

Mr. Whitton is currently President of  CutThroat Entertainment. Started in November of 1999, CutThroat Entertainment has been steadily producing independent, self-funded, short films. To date, CutThroat Entertainment has managed profitable sales revenue. Some of the short films produced by CutThroat Entertainment include THE W.B. PROJECT (1999), a documentary which went on to win the THS Film Festival; KENNEDY VS. NIXON (2000), a mockumentary chronicling the debates between the two Presidential candidates which also went on to give CutThroat Entertainment their second straight THS Film Festival title; LOST IN THE WOODS (2002), a horror-comedy which won prizes in several, small, independent film festivals; FROM RED TO GREEN: THE SPECTRUM OF SAFETY (1999), a satirical look at a dangerous intersection which was to air on BBC’s television program THE AWFUL TRUTH, a show hosted Michael Moore, now infamous for his documentaries BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE and FARENHEIT 9/11; and many, many, more.

In addition, CutThroat Entertainment has completed one feature length film, DIRECTIONS FROM HELL, and completed filming for a TV Pilot for Pilgrim Films and Television, LEGEND TRIPPING, which received a large Internet audience. He is currently working on a second pilot of Legend Tripping, which has garnered interest from several networks, including WOW, MTV, BBC, and The Learning Channel (TLC)

Whitton attended Full Sail in 2003-2004, a film institute located in Orlando, FL., where he was first in his class. He shot his first film at age 10, and has been involved with filmmaking ever since. He was born in Connecticut, but currently resides in Ohio.

wes-pic1Wes graduated from Ohio University with high marks and identified a market niche in the Horse Show business and founded a successful Video company, High Country Video, inspiring him to dive deeper into the field of film and video production.  Over the last three years Wesley has been developing his craft as a filmmaker with several productions.

Wes’ documentary, entitled “Everybody’s Doing It?, was a finalist in the Seguin International Film and Video Festival in 2005 and enabled him to team up with Cutthroat Entertainment in Columbus, OH, to co-produce/direct/ and edit a Pilot episode of “Legend Tripping” which awaits airing on the Sci-Fi Channel.Wesley teamed up with two producers in Cincinnati, OH, to produce a pilot comedy episode, which was a finalist in NBC’s online video competition hosted by Carson Daily in Fall 2006.  Two weeks after the competition, Wes’ team got a call from an NBC executive requesting more.

With his sights on feature film production, Wes moved to Los Angeles where he has had success as a Director of Photography in the music video field.  Shooting including Jeanine Strong, and Escape the Fate.   Wes has also completed filming a short accepted into the Steven Spielberg and Mark Burnett’s “On The Lot” program– a competition designed to fulfill filmmakers’ dreams.

Wes’ Production Management skills were sharpened while working on the set of three feature films, his cinematography skills honed through shooting 2 music videos and 5 short films.  Both music videos launched the careers of Jeanine Strong and Escape the Fate.  While 2 of the short films found their way into the finalist of major Film Festivals in California and New York.

Wes currently shoots corporate videos for Atomic Interactive, a web design company that features clients such as Hot Springs Spas, School of Advertising Art, and Care Connect in Dayton, OH.  He’s also employed with the Judge Mathis Show, and Judge Pirro Show out of Chicago and still finds time to purchase; renovate and sell residential real estate.
